Introducing the keynote speaker for the morning: dr. Remco Kornet, Senior Research Scientist at Vivici
Founded in 2023, Vivici is a Netherlands-based biotech startup that uses precision fermentation to produce animal-identical dairy proteins in a sustainable way. Its flagship ingredient, Vivitein™ BLG, offers an ethical, eco-friendly alternative to traditional whey – using 86% less water and emitting 68% fewer CO2. Having secured €32.5 million Series A funding earlier this year, Vivici is scaling production, preparing novel proteins like lactoferrin, and targeting global diversified markets through its innovative alternative to traditional dairy proteins.
After earning his PhD in Food Science at the University of Wageningen, Remco Kornet built a strong track record in food innovation. He contributed to Beyond Meat’s Innovation Hub within the EMEA-region, and now leads the functionality and application team at Vivici. As a Senior Research Scientist, he focuses on translating the fundamental scientific underpinnings behind Vivici into commercial concepts that deliver real value for Vivici’s clients and partners.
