Great news! Both IMChip and MemoryLab Health have been granted NWO Take-Off Grants, Phase 1 and 2 respectively – stimulating academic innovation and entrepreneurship within Dutch knowledge institutions.
IMChip
IMChip is on track to revolutionize the chip industry. The Groningen-based startup is building energy-efficient AI hardware by mimicking how the human brain works. Using memristors, they’re exploring brain-like signals to replace traditional, power-hungry computer models. After being awarded the MIT Feasibility grant before, the NWO Take-Off Phase 1 grant will accelerate the development of the innovative AI-chip, bringing it one step closer to market.

MemoryLab Health
MemoryLab Health tracks cognitive decline by analyzing how people perform on a short at-home test. Using computational phenotyping—mathematical models of how memory functions—they can diagnose mild cognitive impairment with the same accuracy as multi-day clinical evaluations. This makes early detection more accessible and less time-consuming. The Take-Off Phase 2 grant is set to support MemoryLab in its translation of fundamental scientific underpinnings to greater societal wellbeing.
