About Corina Prent
Corina is the current managing director of RUG Ventures and VentureLab North. As a result of her technical background, Corina is able to build the perfect bridge between top-of-the-line science and thriving businesses. She has extensive experience in running successful and profitable businesses and has hands-on experience in all aspects of bringing disruptive technology-based products to the market. She uses her broad experience in R&D, scale up, quality control, production, logistics, marketing and sales to assist entrepreneurs in creating successful enterprises.
Corina on our ecosystem
Leading up to the Innovation Day, we ask each of our speakers one pressing question about innovation in their field of work. For drs. Corina Prent, we were eager to know about what motivates her work within the ecosystem. Corina answered: “The short answer is: “Never a dull moment!”.
I work with very committed and resilient people who share my passion to address unmet societal potential using top-of-the-line science everyday. That can be by pursuing new breakthrough scientific discoveries, but also, and this is my core field, assisting founders who transform fundamental science into a product or a service by starting a startup.
The two things I love most are the frontiers of science and technology on the one hand, and working with people who are focused on driving innovation on the other. Working with innovators is about breaking the rules, being disruptive, to challenge the status quo, to deliver the impossible and finding new ideas or solutions every day.
I facilitate the processes that are needed to create a successful start-up, including the first investment in the startup. As a shareholder and based on my experience as technical and business director, I play an active role in supporting the founders on their road to create a successful business.”
