We are proud to be the official name partner of the EBF Conference RUG Ventures Start-Up Pitch 2021
EBF Conference
The EBF Conference is the largest two-day student conference in the Netherlands and will be held on the 7th and 8th of October, 2021. The first day will be the so-called ‘College Day’, where students can attend a day filled with speakers, presentations and awards. The second day is the Conference Day. Throughout the entire day, multiple CEOs from well-known companies, founders from great companies and influential people will inspire all of the 600 participants attending the conference. At the end of the day, the start-up pitch will take place, where the audience will choose the winner of the competition. After a network social and dinner in the Martinikerk, the conference will come to an end.
RUG Ventures Start-up pitch
Every year during the Conference Day, a start-up pitch will be held. During a pre-event, multiple young entrepreneurs are offered the chance to pitch their innovative ideas in front of an experienced jury. The top three will advance to the conference itself, once again pitching their idea, but this time in front of over 600 attendees. The audience will choose the best idea. The winner gets offered an amount of money, as well as multiple coaching sessions. We are proud to be the official name partner of the start-up pitch at the EBF Conference 2021.
Final three contestants
During the pre-event, the top three ideas were chosen. Each of the contestants will once again pitch their idea, but this time in front of the entire audience. The first contestant is Ziemi. Ziemi is an extra bicycle light that illuminates the legs of a cyclist, called biomotion. Ziemi enables us to recognize a cyclist as a human being in traffic earlier, leading to a safer traffic environment.
The second contestant is BranchKey. BranchKey is a platform-as-a-service start-up and provides a platform for distributed machine learning. Users of the platform can participate in a collaborative learning environment while keeping their data secure. The users of such an environment gain insights from data that was previously inaccessible.
The third and final contestant is Drop & Loop. With Drop & Loop, your clothes are given a new lease of life. By handing in old clothes at certain Drop & Loop collection points, you receive discounts on your next purchase. The clothing will be recycled and used for new, raw materials, making it a sustainable way to clean out your wardrobe.
We wish all of the contestants the best of luck and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top!
