With the days counting down, the first annual Innovation Day is coming ever closer. So we might as well give you a quick update on what’s happening!

We are happy to announce that our registration count has surpassed 150, attracting an impressive list of academic innovators, spin-offs, policy makers, and investors from throughout the country. The diverse group of attendees is sure to make for an engaging and collaborative event.

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Prof. Dr. Erik Frijlink has been named the recipient of the 2023 Innovation Award. The award will be presented during the morning session by Hans Biemans, the Vice President of the Board of the University of Groningen. We are looking forward to celebrating Prof. Dr. Frijlink’s exceptional contributions to innovation and research.

Furthermore, we are excited to share that several spin-offs located on campus have generously volunteered to showcase their work and lead the lunch and networking session. The lunch session provides an excellent opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and potentially even spark new collaborations.

Lastly, we can’t wait to introduce the top 5 patents up for valorization by Business Generator Groningen, as well as the valorization of ideas presented by Principal Investigators from the University of Groningen and the UMCG in line with the Need, Technology Approach, Benefits and Competition.
